After we abandoned the shooting levels, the brain boss became an animation. We just had to include it because it looks cool.
We tried to faithfully recreate the arcade ending sequence. I remember a lot of arguing about whether it was a rocket or a car that flew out and saved them as the video footage we took was unclear. I also remember I was eventually proved right (har har).
The 'dancing' end credits to Alien Storm were pretty neat, so we wanted to replicate it, including the flashing logos from other Sega games.
A couple of attempt to draw Scooter in an anime style. We gave up on them as they just weren't working.
The newly planned opening sequence, retaining the flashing kanji from the arcade.
The opening when the game starts sets the scene.
The van looks great, a lot like the arcade version.
The reporter sequence.
A simple animation to mark the entrance of the 3-stage boss monster.
The Scooter kidnap scene which was not finished.
I remember sampling the swallowing sound for this off the video of the arcade version we had. Glorp!
The first ending sequence, which then leads on to some bonus levels as the player crashes on an alien world.
Some miscellaneous city graphics that were to be used somewhere.
I think this was copied from Akira.
A mission screen. The plan was to have a display that showed the outline of an alien or boss, but we abandoned this.
